Hogan Assessments

Individuals and Teams

Focused on Potential, Overused Strengths, Values & Motivations, Emotional Intelligence

“In this transition, going through the Hogan and understanding the Values avoided me taking a job I shouldn’t.”

WHAT KIND OF ASSESSMENT IS IT?

Hogan is a comprehensive personality assessment focused on how others see you (reputation), not on how you see yourself (identity). Your reputation is the person other people think you are, and your success in the workplace is dependent on your reputation.

Hogan has over 40 years of validated research with an archive containing performance data for most jobs in the global economy. More than 11 million assessments have been administered worldwide.

The assessment, available in over 40 languages, helps predict workplace performance by defining your Values to determine if you will like the job, Strengths to see if you can do the job, and Risks to see what might get in your way. It is appropriate for new hires and leadership development.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Assessments are completed online. Reports are generated and analyzed by a Hogan certified practitioner who will debrief you on the results.

The Hogan Personality Assessment

There are three components:

  •  The Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) assesses how people behave when they are at their best.
  • The Hogan Development Survey (HDS) assesses how people behave in times of strain when they overuse their strengths, turning them into weaknesses.
  • The Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) measures people’s core goals, values, drivers, and interests that determine what they desire and strive to attain.

The Hogan Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Assessment

The Hogan EQ Assessment is generated from the HPI and the HDS.

Cognitive ability is only a partial predictor of career success. For most people, what really matters is emotional intelligence, or the ability to identify and manage emotions. People skills determine success, so those who lack the ability to build effective relationships are destined to fail, no matter how smart or talented they are.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

The Hogan assessments provide insight into three big questions:

  • What do people want?
Understanding employee values is key to creating an engaged and motivated workforce.
  • How will they get what they want?
Personality characteristics predict success in careers, relationships, education, and life.
  • What will get in their way?
When people stop self-monitoring, strengths can become weaknesses. If these   characteristics go unrecognized, they can derail careers.

“My Hogan assessment revealed a high score for being innovative and creative, but when I am under pressure, I may have trouble staying focused on the problem at hand.”
